Envision a math program that meets the many needs of students and teachers without weakening its curriculum. EnVisionMATH addresses the wide range of academic problems that teachers have and provides curriculum to solve these problems that is truly successful. K-6 Interactive Science by Pearson Presented by Pearson, Interactive Science, a next generation K-8 science program featuring an innovative write-in student edition makes learning absorbing, relevant, and engaging. Interactive Science for grades K-8 is based on the most important research and best practices from academic research and from some of the most experienced experts in science education. What results is a program rooted in sound learning approaches, teaching strategies, and ideas to engage all learners to increase their learning so that they can apply their ideas. Interactive Science contains many levels of inquiry to provide access for every learner. At UAP, all students in the K-6 grades use interactive science in science class enriched with provided hands on activities and class project ideas. Social Studies Harcourt Social Studies is a comprehensive K–5 curriculum designed to engage and motivate every student. Through the stories of the unique people, amazing places, and incredible events that make social studies part of their lives, students gain a global perspective. They also learn the social studies themes and skills they need to become smart, participating citizens who consider diverse points-of-view, use critical thinking skills, and are positively active in their communities. Completely aligned to the national standards, the program’s research-proven information provides rigor and depth in a simple, highly visual format that automatically connects with all learners. Islamic EducationThese courses constitute the “Rope of Islam” to hold onto and InshaAllah to lead to the hereafter. They are taught to instill an understanding of Islam, a desire to practice Islam, an appreciation of the Qur’an as the guide to mankind and a sense of responsibility to spread the message to all of humanity.
At UAP, students learn Quran with tajweed rules daily. Islamic studies is offered twice a week. The morning assembly, before and after Dhuhr prayer and throughout the day, are always the best times to emphasize and teach the Islamic values. Prayer (Salat) As an Islamic School, the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh aims at strongly adhering to the commands of Allah (S.W.T.) It is therefore the school’s duty to schedule time for Dhuhr prayer, at its prescribed time during the school schedule. We aim to instill a life long practice of daily prayers for our students by establishing a daily routine of prayer and worship. Students in K – 6th grades also attend Salat al-Jumah (Friday Prayer) weekly. |
Arabic LanguageThe Arabic language program at UAP aims at enabling students to receive accurate knowledge from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Arabic Language instruction inspires students to love of and respect the language of the Qur’an and Hadith. Our language program provides students with different levels based on their ability to digest the material. All UAP language teachers are native speakers and are able to provide the appropriate instruction to 3 levels:
